SINGAPORE – In a shocking turn of events, a 36-year-old motorcyclist lost his life following a harrowing collision on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) early on the morning of September 9th.

Emergency services received reports of the accident around 6:30 AM, which occurred on the slip road leading to the Bukit Timah Expressway towards Seletar Expressway. The scene turned tragic as one of the bikers was pronounced dead at the location by responding paramedics.

The second motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man, was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where he was reported to be conscious. Authorities have confirmed he is currently assisting with ongoing investigations.

This tragic event highlights a concerning trend on Singapore’s roads, as recent Traffic Police statistics reveal 78 fatal road accidents in the first half of the year alone, an increase from 70 in the same period last year, with fatalities rising from 72 to 79.
