Her son, Sebastian, confirmed her untimely death on January 22, just days after her emergency brain surgery following a skiing accident on December 24 in Aspen, Colorado.

Just weeks before her passing, Ban shared a harrowing update on her Instagram, detailing how a seemingly minor skiing mishap turned into a life-altering situation. Despite initially being cleared by ski patrol and feeling that her fall wasn't severe, she experienced complications that led to the discovery of a brain bleed after a CT scan. "Last thing I remember was being intubated and waking up after an emergency craniotomy,” she recounted, highlighting the grave nature of her injury.

Ban’s vibrant career as a jewellery designer was marked by her work with some of the biggest names in music and entertainment. She crafted stunning pieces for icons like Beyoncé, Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone.
