A Group 1 Victory Just in Time

There's no such thing as a bad time for a sale company to celebrate a Group 1 champion. However, Tattersalls struck gold when Believing (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) clinched an impressive victory at the Al Quoz Sprint in Meydan last week, lighting up the stage just ahead of the much-anticipated Craven Breeze-Up Sale.

Star Graduates Shine Bright

Trained by George Boughey, Believing became the fifth Group 1 winner to emerge from the Craven in just three years, joining distinguished names like 1,000 Guineas champion Cachet (Ire) (Aclaim {Ire}), Irish 2,000 Guineas superstar Native Trail (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), dual Group 1 victor Vandeek (GB) (Havana Grey {GB}), and last year's Futurity Trophy winner Hotazhell (GB) (Too Darn Hot {GB}).

Excitement Builds at Tattersalls

Jason Singh, associate director at Tattersalls, expressed optimism about maintaining this trend: "Believing winning in Dubai was perfect timing, marking the fifth individual Group 1 winner from our Craven Breeze-Up Sale in the last three years. The variety in price tags among these champions is remarkable."

A Tale of Smart Investments

Mick Fitzpatrick, who first recognized Believing's potential at the October Yearling Sale for 70,000gns, was thrilled by the horse's rise. He reflected on the success of the Craven sale, noting that it represents a diverse market: "It’s fantastic to see success spread across various price ranges; it validates our efforts in the industry."

The Hard Work Behind the Glory

Fitzpatrick also acknowledged the effort involved in producing a Group 1 winner, stating, "It's a 24/7 commitment. Without my dedicated team, none of this would be possible. Winning at this elite level is incredibly challenging, making each victory that much sweeter."

New Talents on the Horizon

As he looks to the future, Fitzpatrick is focused on cultivating the next star, featuring a promising Lope Y Fernandez (Ire) filly alongside colts by Justify and Knicks Go. Meanwhile, Tradewinds Stud's Alex Power is equally optimistic, having nurtured a stunning Havana Grey (GB) filly.

A Buzz of Anticipation

With buyers like Kia Joorabchian, top bloodstock agent Alex Elliott, and the Amo Racing team inspecting their options, the atmosphere is charged with 'quiet optimism' just before the sale kicks off at 5:45 PM on Tuesday. Singh noted, "This is the first major breeze-up sale of the year, and the excitement is palpable as our handlers bring an excellent selection of horses."
