In an audacious bid to capture the gaming world’s attention, Shift Up has announced plans to release the action-packed souls-like title, Stellar Blade, on PC in 2025. The studio aims to harness the market potential of PC gaming, hoping to replicate the astounding success that titles like Black Myth: Wukong have achieved.

In its recent financial report, Shift Up highlighted that Stellar Blade has performed well since its launch in April 2024, accumulating impressive sales figures: 25.8 billion won (approximately US$18.5 million) in its first quarter and 22.5 billion won (around US$16.1 million) in its second. This brings the total revenue to 48.4 billion won (US$34.6 million) by the end of September 2024.

“The [PC] release is being considered within 2025,” Shift Up confirmed. They are optimistic about the prospects of the PC market, especially given trends like Steam’s growing share in the AAA gaming segment. With the seismic success of Black Myth: Wukong—selling over 10 million copies within the first three days of its launch and setting record highs as Steam's most-played single-player game—Shift Up believes that a PC version of Stellar Blade could outperform its console variant.

As they gear up for this ambitious expansion, Shift Up is committed to keeping players engaged with the PS5 exclusive during the interim. The studio has hinted at several upcoming updates and exciting content drops, including a highly anticipated crossover DLC with the popular game Nier: Automata, set for November 20.

The excitement surrounding Stellar Blade is palpable, and with a strategic focus on both current gameplay and future releases, Shift Up is poised to make waves in the gaming community. Will they capture the magic of Black Myth: Wukong? Gamers everywhere are eager to find out!
