A Disturbing Case Unveiled
Hee Lic Yuan, a 32-year-old man known for preying on vulnerable young girls, was sentenced on April 16 for a series of heinous crimes, including the sexual exploitation of minors and the production of illicit materials involving children.
The Rise of a Predator
According to court revelations, Hee began his disturbing exploits between 2017 and 2018, initially reaching out to a teenage girl on Instagram with an offer of money in exchange for explicit photos. By 2019, his manipulation escalated as he offered her S$350 (about $267) for sex, an offer she, tragically, accepted.
Shocking Victim Accounts
The situation worsened when Hee secretly recorded the girl during their encounters. After she attempted to sever ties by blocking him on social media, he resorted to harassment, demanding the return of the money he had given her. When she refused, he ominously threatened to release the explicit photos.
Youngest Victim Only 13
The investigation revealed that Hee’s youngest victim was just 13 years old. Exploiting the 'sugar daddy' facade, he lured many girls with promises of cash and gifts in exchange for companionship and explicit content, showcasing how predators can manipulate young minds.
Justice Served After Years of Silence
It wasn't until 2021 that victims found the courage to come forward and report Hee to the authorities, leading to his eventual arrest. This case sheds light on the urgent need for vigilance and support systems for young individuals facing similar threats.
