A Lifeline for Gaza: Singapore's Recent Airdrop

In a remarkable display of international solidarity, a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) aircraft has airlifted nearly 15 tonnes of vital medical and food supplies into Gaza. This significant humanitarian mission took place between August 12 and September 25, marking Singapore’s determination to aid those in desperate need.

A Joint Effort for Humanitarian Relief

This second airdrop operation, executed alongside foreign air forces, represents Singapore's ninth delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza. The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) confirmed that a reliable C-130 transport aircraft was responsible for helicoptering exactly 14.9 tonnes of essential supplies.

Successful Mission and Safe Return

The mission concluded successfully, with the crew returning safely from Jordan shortly after the delivery. The operation was backed by the Singapore Army’s 3rd SAF Transport Battalion, underscoring the collaborative effort behind the scenes.

Life-Saving Supplies from Heartfelt Contributions

The life-saving aid included medical supplies coordinated by the Ministry of Health and essential food provisions from various reputable NGOs such as Humanity Matters, Caritas Humanitarian Aid and Relief Initiatives Singapore, Mercy Relief, and the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation.

Coordination and Efficiency at Its Best

The Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre played a pivotal role in consolidating these relief supplies, ensuring that they reached the most affected individuals swiftly and efficiently.

A Testament to Operational Readiness

Major-General Kelvin Fan, Singapore's Chief of Air Force, passionately reflected on the operation, calling it "a testament to our operational readiness and ability to conduct missions at short notice." He extended heartfelt gratitude to the servicemen and women, defense partners, and NGOs who collectively contributed to this noble cause.
