Tackling the Financing Challenge

Despite the ambition, attracting financial backing for such infrastructure has proven tricky. Many financial institutions are wary, viewing the upfront costs and perceived risks as roadblocks. As Sharon Seah from the ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute noted, securing project financing has long been a significant hurdle to realizing a regional grid.
