Introducing a Unique In-Flight Experience
SINGAPORE – Get ready for an extraordinary journey! Singapore Airlines (SIA) has just launched a captivating in-flight safety video that showcases the country's beloved landmarks, including the stunning Esplanade and the breathtaking Gardens by the Bay.
A Tour of Singapore's Icons
Officially revealed on September 4, this innovative 5-minute and 39-second video will start appearing on all SIA flights by the end of October. It's not just a safety guide; it’s a visually arresting tour around Singapore.
Engaging with Local Culture
Follow two charismatic SIA cabin crew members as they explore famous locales, beginning at the spectacular Cloud Forest in Gardens by the Bay. They enlist the help of local talents, from lion dance performers to kolam artists, cleverly integrating in-flight safety instructions into their vibrant cultural narrative.
Safety Meets Entertainment
At Jurong Lake Gardens, for example, a lion dancer elegantly demonstrates essential procedures like securing tray tables and ensuring seats are in the upright position. Other engaging scenes include a family in a cozy Housing Board flat—a durian feast in progress—illustrating how to properly use an oxygen mask.
From Beaches to City Lights
The safety video sweeps through picturesque spots like Tanjong Beach on Sentosa, the Village Hotel Sentosa, and the bustling Lau Pa Sat, before culminating with an aerial view of Singapore’s mesmerizing night skyline from the Esplanade.
A Message of Community and Safety
According to Mr. Vinod Kannan, SIA’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the video is designed to resonate with Singaporeans, evoking a profound sense of home while traveling. Every carefully crafted scene aims to reinforce vital safety messages, as passenger safety remains SIA's top priority.
Celebrating Singapore's Arts and Culture
Blending real-life footage with artistic watercolour effects, the video beautifully celebrates Singapore’s rich arts landscape. Mr. Kenneth Lim, Assistant Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), emphasized that this collaboration with SIA highlights Singapore's unique character and positions it as a preferred destination for travelers globally.
