Kumar revealed that this syndicate's chilling strategy involved luring pregnant mothers with offers ranging from RM1,500 (approximately US$355) to RM3,500 for relinquishing their children. In a month-long joint initiative, the Malaysian Internet Crime Against Children Investigation Unit collaborated with Johor police and international agencies from July 19 to August 19, spanning various states including Johor, Selangor, and Penang. Following thorough investigations, police executed several strategic raids leading to multiple arrests and the seizure of illicit materials.
