The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) reported that police seized nearly 7 kilograms of cannabis from a private residence located near Cavenagh Road, with an estimated street value exceeding S$184,000 (approximately US$138,000). This staggering amount of narcotics could potentially sustain the addiction of around 1,040 individuals for an entire week.

Details of the Operation

The operation took a tense turn when CNB officers were forced to break into the apartment after the occupant failed to cooperate. Authorities found the suspect hiding in one of the bedrooms, where a thorough search revealed a substantial haul. The breakdown of the confiscated drugs included 6,885 grams of cannabis, 69 grams of Ice (methamphetamine), 21 grams of ketamine, and 20 grams of Ecstasy, along with six LSD stamps and six bottles of GHB—a potent psychoactive substance often used in recreational settings.

Additional Discoveries

In addition to these illegal substances, officers also discovered smaller quantities of cannabis and ketamine on the suspect, along with over S$6,200 in cash and various foreign currencies. A subsequent search of his vehicle parked in the compound unearthed an additional 25 grams of cannabis, 25 grams of psilocybin mushrooms (often referred to as psychedelic mushrooms), 17 grams of Ice, and a small quantity of ketamine.
