Opting for a Class A ward at a private hospital, Gina's hospital stay extended longer than the typical four-day, three-night stint, lasting five days and four nights due to special medical needs.

Originally admitted for bed rest, a medical evaluation determined an emergency cesarean was necessary, contributing to an increased hospital bill of around $30,000—this encompassed both delivery and accommodation fees.

A Comparative Cost Breakdown!

Lee mentioned that a standard cesarean in the same private ward typically ranges from $15,000 to $18,000, while a natural delivery costs about $10,000. He added that expenses would have been less had they opted for a public hospital.

Due to the early arrival, their newborn was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit for observation, significantly inflating the total costs. Medical fees for the baby hit around $65,000, pushing their grand total, including prenatal check-ups, to over a staggering $100,000!
