SINGAPORE - The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is inviting the public to provide feedback on innovative way-finding signs that are set to be installed at Circle Line (CCL) stations.

These new signs will debut alongside the opening of three upcoming CCL stations—Keppel, Cantonment, and Prince Edward Road—which are anticipated to open in the first half of 2026. Notably, this expansion will coincide with the closure of the line section between HarbourFront and Marina Bay stations.

As part of this sixth stage of CCL expansion, the introduction of unique service patterns distinguishes it from other MRT lines, which necessitates clear navigation between both clockwise and anti-clockwise train service routes. Many CCL stations will also feature platforms situated on different levels, underscoring the necessity for an effective, custom way-finding solution that caters to all transit users, LTA noted on March 14.

To engage the community, from March 14 to 17, commuters can access a survey to share their thoughts on design options. QR codes leading to the survey can be scanned at the entrance connecting Suntec City shopping mall to Promenade station, at the fare gate of Exit C, and on Platform B of the station, which services trains towards Dhoby Ghaut and Marina Bay.

Examples of the proposed signs are on display at Promenade station's Platform B, allowing commuters to visualize what the actual signs will look like when implemented. LTA staff will be present on-site to assist those who may not be familiar with technology.

The survey, which is expected to take around 20 minutes to complete, asks participants to choose their preferred designs for various signs meant to enhance the commuter experience. These signs will indicate train routes on platforms, inside trains, and through digital displays signaling arrival times.

For those unable to visit the stations, the survey can also be completed online at this link (go.gov.sg/ccl6pe).

Prior to this survey, LTA engaged over 50 stakeholders, including working commuters, students, elderly citizens, and people with disabilities, to gather their insights on way-finding designs. The feedback from these groups has been incorporated into the designs currently presented for public feedback.

Through this survey, LTA aims to gather comprehensive insights from commuters across different demographics and navigational abilities. This diverse feedback will inform the refinement of the designs intended for all CCL stations.

Financial consultant Woong Peck Leong emphasizes the importance of effective way-finding signs, stating, "Good signage helps ensure commuters travel in the right direction. The last thing anyone wants is to board a train headed the wrong way." Graphic designer Chua Keng Leong, who specializes in this field, welcomes the survey as a valuable opportunity to gauge commuter preferences but suggests simplifying complex terms like "outer loop" and "inner loop" to make them more accessible. Additionally, he proposed introducing duration indicators on route maps, which would help commuters quickly assess the most efficient travel routes.

Don't miss your chance to participate in this important initiative that will shape the future navigational experience in Singapore's Circle Line stations!
