In a heartfelt revelation, Seohyun, the youngest member of the iconic K-pop group Girls' Generation, shared that her early days were often filled with tears due to the playful teasing from her older bandmates.

During a candid chat on the YouTube show 'Hyoyeon’s Level Up,' aired on April 16, Seohyun recalled laughter and mischief among the members. Reflecting on their idol days, she admitted, "I cried a lot. I couldn’t take jokes well when I was younger and would often end up in tears."

She shared a memorable story from a birthday celebration during their Japan tour—after stepping away for a moment, she returned to find everyone missing. Perplexed and nearly in tears, she thought, "This is too much." To her surprise, the others jumped out from behind a curtain to celebrate with her.

Hyoyeon chuckled at the memory, confessing they worried Seohyun might actually think they had left her behind. Seohyun, with a smile, noted, "I’m only sharing the fond memories now."

The conversation took a turn as Hyoyeon acknowledged the playful pranks they pulled back in the day, suggesting that they played a significant role in Seohyun's growth. "You’ve become much stronger because of us," Hyoyeon teased, to which Seohyun humorously replied, "I don’t cry anymore. Now I can joke around too!”

Shifting topics, Seohyun discussed how the members recently started using more informal speech with each other. When Hyoyeon asked if she was getting casual with Tiffany and the others, Seohyun confirmed, "Yes, I speak informally with Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Yuri."

Her comfort with informal language blossomed during an acting project where she had to relate to a senior actor as a peer. "He encouraged me to speak to him as a friend, and it broke the barrier between us. Once I learned to let go, it felt natural and brought us closer together," she said.

Hyoyeon's request for Seohyun to address her informally caught her off guard, but she quickly adapted. "YoonA mixes formal and informal speech and considering I’m the youngest, I sometimes wonder, 'Who am I to speak informally?' Mixing both feels appropriate," Seohyun explained.

When asked if she used informal speech exclusively with Yuri, Sooyoung, and Tiffany, Seohyun clarified that their sporadic meet-ups meant she mostly communicated informally through texts. "I’d send messages like, 'Unnie, what are you doing?' It’s crucial for me to build that casual rapport before it’s too late—we’re in for the long haul together!"
