Say goodbye to worries, as the new "Galaxy Watch for Kids" mode allows parents to leverage the Galaxy Watch 7 as a fully functional smartwatch designed specifically for kids!

This innovative mode enables children to safely communicate by calling and texting trusted contacts, while parents gain peace of mind with GPS tracking capabilities to monitor their child's location. This feature is now available for users on Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T networks, and it starts rolling out today!

One of the standout aspects of this new feature is its ease of use for parents. Unlike previous setups that required a degree of technical know-how, the Galaxy Watch for Kids works similarly to Apple’s Family Setup. Parents can use their smartphones to pair and configure the smartwatch, applying necessary restrictions through the Google Family Link app. This empowers parents to manage which apps can be downloaded, pinpoint misplaced watches, and establish a trusted contact list for their kids.

In a critical moment, kids can access emergency SOS features simply by pressing the side button five times—ensuring that safety is always within reach. Additionally, a dedicated School Time mode restricts features during school hours, promoting focused learning without distractions.

To enhance the smartwatch experience, kids can enjoy a selection of 20 "teacher-approved" apps and watch faces available in a special kids section of the Google Play Store. With popular themes like Barbie, Marvel, and even Rubik’s Cube, along with educational games from PBS Kids and Crayola, the Galaxy Watch 7 not only promotes safety but also encourages fun and learning.

However, it’s worth noting that Samsung is entering a competitive market, as it plays catch-up with other tech giants. Apple rolled out its Family Setup for kids in 2020, and Google followed suit with the Fitbit Ace LTE, focusing on educational gaming for children.
