In an electrifying development, Paris-based DeepTech startup Arago has successfully raised €22.1 million in Seed funding to accelerate the launch of its groundbreaking photonic processor, dubbed "JEF." The impressive funding round garnered support from well-known investors including Earlybird, Protagonist, and Visionaries Tomorrow, along with participation from Generative IQ and C4 Ventures. Notably, several angel investors from the tech elite, such as Bertrand Serlet (co-founder of Fungible), Christophe Frey (GM at Arm), and Thomas Wolf (co-founder of Hugging Face), bolstered the team with their expertise.

Founded just a year ago by experts in photonics, electronics, software, and machine learning, Arago's technology reportedly utilizes a proprietary approach that could cut energy consumption by 10 times compared to today’s leading GPUs, all while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compatibility with standard industry practices.

Arago has already assembled a diverse team of 20 highly skilled professionals from top-tier companies and universities, including former executives from Apple, Arm, Nvidia, and Hugging Face.
