Get Ready for Personalized Conversations!

Google has unveiled an exciting new update for its AI chatbot, Gemini, which now boasts the ability to remember past conversations and user preferences. This innovative feature is designed to enhance the user experience by making interactions feel more personalized and engaging.

Meet 'Personalized Context'—Your New AI Best Friend!

With this update, Gemini will recall your favorite hobbies, creative projects, and personal tastes, creating a dialogue that feels as if you’re chatting with an old friend who knows you well. The ‘Personalized Context’ setting is automatically turned on, but no worries—users can easily disable it if preferred through the Gemini app.

Michael Siliski, a senior director at Gemini, expressed excitement about this feature: 'We’re introducing a new setting that allows Gemini to learn from your past conversations over time. With this setting active, your chats become more natural and relevant, much like collaborating with a partner who’s already in sync.'

Privacy Matters: Introducing Temporary Chats!

For those who prioritize privacy, Gemini has also implemented a fantastic new feature called 'Temporary Chats.' This option allows users to have one-off conversations that aren’t saved, similar to incognito mode in web browsers. Conversations initiated in this mode won’t appear in chat history or be stored in Gemini’s Apps Activity.

Temporary Chats are easily accessible through a new button next to ‘New Chat’ in the side menu. Everything exchanged in these chats will only be retained for up to 72 hours, just enough time to gather optional feedback without compromising your privacy.

The Future of AI Is Here!

These features are part of the Gemini 2.5 Pro update, currently being rolled out in select countries before expanding to a wider audience. While competitors like OpenAI’s ChatGPT have also ventured into similar territory, often with mixed results, Google seems determined to enhance user safety and experience.

As AI continues to evolve, it’s clear that having an assistant capable of remembering and understanding personal preferences is just the beginning. The future of personalized AI conversations is knocking—are you ready to open the door?
