In mouse models, simply adding this compound to their drinking water effectively protected neurons, soothed reactive astrocytes, and rejuvenated overall brain function!
Results were astonishing! Mice with ALS experienced delayed onset of the disease and lived over four weeks longer than those untreated. Parkinson’s-model mice saw restored motor functions, Alzheimer’s models regained memory capabilities, and aging mice lived longer by extending their lifespan from two years to an incredible three!
But there's more: this study unmasked a vicious cycle where excess H₂O₂ depletes hemoglobin levels in astrocytes, further endangering the brain’s natural defenses. KDS12025 disrupts this cycle, effectively preserving neuronal health and functionality.
With no prior treatment focusing on astrocytic hemoglobin, this study paves the way for unprecedented protective strategies against neurodegenerative conditions.
