Returning to Our Regular Programming: A Personal Update

Hello, readers!
As you might have noticed, this week's wrap looks a little different. I’m astonished I managed to send out a wrap last weekend, considering what I've been through recently.
Health Struggles
To put it bluntly, I’ve been unwell, and it’s been quite a few years since I've felt this sick. Immediately following our events for World Day Against the Death Penalty, I woke up with a scratchy throat and a headache that I initially brushed off as a minor cold. However, what little I thought I had quickly escalated into a serious viral infection. My body has truly been in turmoil over these past weeks, struggling with symptoms like fatigue, chills, muscle aches, sleepless nights, and a multitude of other unpleasant experiences. 😷😢😩
Event Update
I was set to speak at the Splice Beta event in Chiang Mai, which is always an exciting experience for me, but I had to pull out this year. The thought of navigating three intensive days filled with presentations and social interactions felt overwhelming, especially with various work responsibilities approaching in my calendar. If you're attending, I hope it’s an awesome time for you, and perhaps I'll see you next year!
Recovery
On a positive note, I believe I'm finally on the mend. The first round of medications didn’t do much, but a second regimen seems to be making a significant difference. I’m finally getting quality sleep, which is crucial for my recovery. Considering that my weakened immune system was likely exacerbated by recent overwork and sleep deprivation, I’ve decided to take a step back, allowing myself to ease into work gradually, rather than jumping back into the hustle and bustle of everything all at once. As a result, I will be taking this weekend off from We, The Citizens, and potentially next weekend as well, depending on how quickly I can clear the workload that has piled up.
