Rising Star Regina Song Nominated at Japan's Music Awards
Singapore's pop sensation Regina Song, just 21 years old, is making headlines as the sole Singaporean nominee at the inaugural Music Awards Japan (MAJ). Her hit single "The Cutest Pair" from her debut album "Fangirl" has launched her into the spotlight.
A Competitive Category Awaits
Regina is vying for the prestigious Best Song Asia award, competing against stellar talents like Aespa's "Supernova," Plave's "Way 4 Luv," Bernadya's "Satu Bulan," and Jeff Satur's "Ghost." The tension is high as the music world gears up for the ceremony on May 21 and 22 at Kyoto's Rohm Theater.
A Dream Come True for Regina
In her candid response to the nomination, Regina expressed, "It feels extremely surreal to be among the top five nominees in the Best Song Asia category. Winning this award would be a dream come true, but even being nominated is a tremendous blessing. I'm so thankful for everyone who's supported me on this journey."
A Spotify Sensation
The success of "The Cutest Pair" has not gone unnoticed, achieving over 44 million streams on Spotify since its June 2024 release. Regina is currently soaring with more than one million monthly listeners on the platform, cementing her status as a rising star in the industry.
