In a bold statement, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani urged the global community to abandon double standards and hold Israel accountable for what he labeled as its egregious actions.

Addressing a preparatory gathering ahead of an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders, Al Thani's remarks come in response to an unprecedented Israeli air strike targeting Hamas leaders in Doha.

"The international community must act decisively against Israel's ongoing assault on our Palestinian brothers, aimed at forcibly displacing them from their land," he declared passionately.

According to the Qatari foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari, the upcoming leaders' meeting will discuss a draft resolution specifically condemning the Israeli actions towards Qatar.

Prominent figures expected to attend include Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, and Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas, who arrived in Doha ahead of the summit.

There are also reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate, while speculation surrounds whether Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will attend, following his recent visit to Qatar.

As host of the largest U.S. military base in the region, Qatar plays a crucial role in mediating the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, often alongside the United States and Egypt.

Hamas politburo member Bassem Naim expressed hopes that this significant summit will yield a unified Arab-Islamic stance and actionable strategies regarding Israel and the broader conflict.
