The Spanish company has successfully completed integrated testing of its TEPREL-C rocket engines, setting the stage for an exciting flight qualification campaign scheduled to kick off at the end of June!

Fueled by kerosene (RP-1) and liquid oxygen (LOX), the TEPREL-C engine will be responsible for propelling MIURA 5 into orbit. The first stage of the rocket will be powered by five sea-level versions of the engine, each generating an impressive 190 kN of thrust, while the second stage will utilize a vacuum-optimized variant producing 75 kN.

To bolster its production capabilities, PLD Space has upgraded its Elche-based facility with state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques, including copper and nickel electroplating, Inconel welding, and X-ray inspections for non-destructive testing. Engineered to Perfection
From scratch, PLD Space has designed crucial engine subsystems, including innovative turbopumps, gas generators, and cryogenic valves. Notably, the turbopumps for the rocket stages have undergone extensive testing and validated performance metrics, making them the largest ever developed by a private European enterprise.
