Exciting News for Phasmophobia Fans!

Grab your EMF readers and don your ghost-hunting gear! Kinetic Games, the masterminds behind the viral ghost-hunting phenomenon, Phasmophobia, have hinted that a sequel isn’t off the table. However, their focus currently lies on refining the existing game until it truly shines.

Plans for the Future!

Corey J. Dixon, the art director at Kinetic Games, shared that the team is aiming for a full release (version 1.0) alongside the highly anticipated Horror 2.0 update. "We want to ensure the game is feature-complete before we consider it finished," said Dixon. But don’t expect the team to stop working post-launch. New maps and exciting reworks are in the pipeline, making sure that Phasmophobia remains fresh and thrilling.

The Community’s Voice Matters!

Dixon expressed the challenges of planning a final release date, noting that player feedback drives ongoing improvements. The developers remain committed to listening to the community and enriching the game experience as they approach what they believe will be the game’s best iteration yet.

Could Phasmophobia 2 Happen?

When it comes to a potential sequel, Dixon remains optimistic yet realistic. "I wouldn't write it off. It would be a fantastic challenge to explore what a new Phasmophobia could look like," he stated. The team recognizes that there are numerous aspects they'd adjust or add if they embarked on a new project.

A Blossoming Phenomenon!

Since its early access debut in 2020, Phasmophobia has taken the gaming world by storm, with over 23 million copies sold.
