Exciting News for Overseas Singaporeans!
In an impressive surge of civic engagement, more than 18,000 Singaporeans have successfully registered to cast their votes from overseas, as revealed by the Elections Department (ELD) on April 18.
A Historic Vote Awaits!
With polling day scheduled for May 3 and over 2.75 million eligible voters in total, this year's election marks a notable moment in Singapore's democratic process. Among the registered overseas voters, 9,759 will participate by mail, while 8,630 have chosen to vote in person at designated polling stations around the globe.
Stay Informed: What Every Overseas Voter Needs to Know
Registered overseas voters will receive an official email from ELD detailing their voting process. Want to check your registration status? Simply log into ELD's voter services platform to get the latest updates. After Nomination Day, additional information will also flow to your inbox if your electoral division is contested.
Polling Stations Across the Globe!
Excitingly, voters will have the convenience of casting their ballots at overseas polling stations set up in ten major cities including Beijing, London, New York, and Tokyo. This accessibility aims to ensure that every Singaporean abroad can have their say in the elections.
Returning Home to Vote? Here's What to Do!
For those returning to Singapore on polling day, there’s good news! If you haven’t voted yet, you can still cast your vote at your assigned Singapore polling station. Keep an eye out for your polling card, which will provide all necessary details and will be sent to your registered NRIC address or local contact address.
One Vote, One Voice!
It's essential to remember that every overseas voter can only vote once in this election, whether that’s from their overseas location or at their assigned station in Singapore. Before receiving your ballot at the polling station, you’ll need to declare that you haven’t voted yet. This helps maintain the fair and orderly conduct of our elections.
Are You Ready to Make Your Voice Heard?
As the election draws nearer, it’s a vital time for Singaporeans, both at home and abroad, to engage in the democratic process. Make sure you have everything in order to ensure your vote counts!
