Square Enix has officially revealed that the highly anticipated Octopath Traveler 0 will come with town building limitations across various platforms when it launches this December. Gamers can prepare for a unique experience on PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.

Platform-Specific Town Building Limits

The latest specifications highlight significant differences in town building sizes according to the platform. Players on the PS5, Xbox Series X | S, and modern PCs can expand their towns to a maximum of 500 plots! However, those sticking with the Switch 2 and PS4 will see their limit decrease to 400.

And if you're still gaming on the original Switch? Get ready for even more restrictions—town building on this console drops to just 250 plots, a stark contrast to those enjoying the full potential on next-gen platforms!

Resolution and Frame Rate Breakdown

When it comes to the visual experience, PS5 and Xbox Series X take the crown, offering breathtaking resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 and silky-smooth frame rates at 120 FPS. PC players will have the flexibility to adjust settings to match their hardware capabilities.

Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S can handle 120 FPS at 1920 x 1080, and both the PS4 and Switch 2 max out at 1920 x 1080 with 60 FPS. Sadly, the original Switch lags behind, presenting a maximum resolution of 1280 x 720 with only 30 FPS.

Physical Release Details

Switch 2 users will enjoy the advantage of playing on-the-go, but there's a catch! Square Enix has confirmed that the physical version of Octopath Traveler 0 will be available solely as a Game-Key Card. Conversely, original Switch owners can still grab a physical card, but they can't upgrade to the Switch 2 version.
