SINGAPORE: After an impressive tenure of 24 years in politics, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, former Defence Minister, announced his retirement on April 18, 2025, ahead of the upcoming General Election. This significant decision came during a press conference in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, where he has served as a Member of Parliament since 2001.
"It's been an honour and privilege to serve my residents and the wider Singaporean community for five terms," Dr. Ng expressed, reflecting on his long-standing commitment to public service.
