Report Illegal Work in Just a Click!
SINGAPORE – Reporting illegal delivery work will soon get a whole lot easier! The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has announced the launch of a dedicated online feature, allowing the public to report foreign workers involved in unlawful delivery operations.
Arrests Made!
This announcement follows a recent operation that resulted in the arrest of three foreigners for illegal delivery work. Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower, Koh Poh Koon, shared this important update on August 20 via Facebook.
Join the Fight!
In the meantime, citizens wishing to report suspicious activities can still do so through the ministry's existing channels. Dr. Koh expressed gratitude towards local delivery riders who supported the enforcement operations, especially those involving identified hotspots flagged by the National Delivery Champions Association.
Riders Unite!
Over 370 diligent riders took time out of their busy shifts to assist MOM officers during these operations. Dr. Koh commended their efforts, acknowledging that every minute counts in their line of work.
Protecting Local Workers!
He noted, "Their willingness to pause and help was no small sacrifice, and we are deeply grateful for their cooperation and sense of responsibility." This initiative highlights a commitment to fairness, as illegal delivery work undermines local platform workers.
Looking Ahead!
Dr. Koh reassured that the Platform Workers Trilateral Group will continue addressing the concerns raised by these workers, ensuring a balanced and equitable delivery landscape for all.
