Get ready, Singapore! The upcoming 2025 National Day Parade (NDP) promises to be an unforgettable spectacle, showcasing the biggest mobile stage in parade history, a stunning 360-degree stage designed to immerse audiences like never before.
This colossal, three-tiered stage measures a whopping 15 meters in diameter, weighs a jaw-dropping 20,000 kilograms, and can soar to heights of 7 meters, all while boasting an impressive 270 LED screens! Not stopping there, eight island stages will populate the Padang, creating a vibrant atmosphere of celebration.
Surrounding iconic landmarks like the Fullerton Hotel and UOB Plaza One will dazzle audiences with vibrant projections of SG60-themed artwork, crafted by talented local artists such as Sam Lo.
Honoring Singapore’s 60 years of independence, NDP 2025 welcomes back acclaimed filmmaker Boo Junfeng as creative director, who previously helmed the creative vision for the 2018 and 2021 shows. And that’s not all—this year’s celebration will feature an astounding 39 local artists from across generations, alongside over 3,000 performers!
Expect to see familiar faces like Dick Lee, Kit Chan, Rahimah Rahim, and Ramli Sarip, as well as contemporary talents like Charlie Lim, Benjamin Kheng, Tosh Zhang, and Yung Raja captivating the crowd!
For the first time, NDP 2025 will take the festivities beyond Padang to the Marina Bay area. Audiences can anticipate performances on a remarkable mobile floating stage aboard a Republic of Singapore Navy Fast Craft Utility, where Kheng will perform alongside a dozen dancers.
Kicking off the parade is a groundbreaking pre-show segment featuring an original musical film titled 'Makin’ Our Way,' directed by Kheng himself. Following this, witness the thrilling Jump of Unity featuring Red Lions parachutists from the Singapore Armed Forces and naval divers.
A heartwarming segment, 'Our Singapore Wish,' will showcase the aspirations of the citizens through heartfelt video messages, accompanied by tunes from the Combined Schools Band.
The grand show is divided into four captivating acts, each inspired by the national anthem 'Majulah Singapura.' Act One celebrates Singapore’s diversity, featuring the theme song 'Here We Are' performed by Chan and Lim, along with a spoken rendition of the anthem by Ramli and others.
Act Two shifts focus to personal dreams and collective ambitions, featuring performances from rising stars, as well as performances by schools and special groups like the Diverse Abilities Dance Collective.
In Act Three, Major themes of resilience through family bonds and community spirit come alive with Lee’s performance in a floating balloon, singing the 2002 NDP theme song 'We Will Get There.'
The grand finale, Act Four, envisions the dreams of Singaporeans as a shared national destiny. Audiences will unite for a nostalgic sing-along of beloved national anthems like 'Stand Up for Singapore' and 'Count On Me Singapore,' culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over Padang and Marina Bay!
Every one of the 27,000 attendees will wear LED wristbands, contributing to a stunning light spectacle synchronized with the performances.
Boo Junfeng expresses hopes that this year’s NDP becomes a moment of reflection for all Singaporeans, prompting them to consider not just a celebration but also their shared love for their home.
Veteran singer Rahimah expresses her pride in performing with Kheng on the new NDP theme song, emphasizing the joy of celebrating intergenerational collaboration. Despite being physically apart, her heartfelt performance will resonate deeply with audiences.
Among the many esteemed performers are Jennifer Thevajenner and Matthew S.T. Sunil, a couple returning for their seventh NDP performance, who will blend emotion and artistry in their spirited dance.
NDP 2025 is not just a celebration; it’s a vibrant tapestry of Singaporean culture, resilience, and dreams coming to life!
