Morning Chaos on the Circle Line!

In a dramatic start to the day for commuters in Singapore, train services on the Circle Line (CCL) faced significant disruptions after a technical fault caused major delays during the peak morning hours on May 20.

Quick Response Mitigates the Impact

Around 8:30 AM, SMRT took to social media platform X to warn passengers of the delays, suggesting they add an additional 30 minutes to their travel time. Just a mere 10 minutes later, the transportation authority updated riders, announcing that the issue had been resolved and services were progressively resuming.

Faulty Train Fixed!

The train malfunction had occurred between Botanic Gardens and Farrer Road stations at approximately 8:15 AM. By around 8:44 AM, normal operations were back on track. SMRT reassured commuters, stating, 'Our staff immediately responded to resolve the fault,' and emphasized that announcements were made at the stations to keep passengers informed.

Additional Support for Commuters

To ease the burden during the delay, SMRT had arranged free bus services between Serangoon and Buona Vista stations at designated stops. However, by the time services were fully restored, these bus alternatives were no longer available.

Grateful Commute Resumes

SMRT extended their apologies for the inconvenience caused, thanking commuters for their understanding. Observations at Serangoon station around 9:10 AM saw trains arriving frequently, swiftly clearing out the platform. Passengers transferring from the North East Line reported that their journeys were not affected by the disruption.

A Morning to Remember!

With the Circle Line back in action, commuters can breathe a sigh of relief. Thanks to the quick response from SMRT, what could have been a major transportation headache turned into a minor hiccup.
