This much-anticipated announcement was made by WP secretary-general Pritam Singh and chair Sylvia Lim at the party’s headquarters in Geylang.

Introducing the latest contenders are Mr. Michael Thng, Mr. Jackson Au Chee Meng, and Ms. Paris V Parameswari, adding to an already impressive roster of new faces.

A Strong Line-Up of Candidates!

Since kicking off their campaign by unveiling a 122-page manifesto, the Workers’ Party has been in the spotlight, rolling out new candidates almost daily. With a total of 14 new faces introduced, the party aims to enhance its representation in Parliament, echoing a commitment to impactful change.

Singh hinted there might be even more surprises ahead. "In case there's a need to have them deployed, I cannot commit that there are no more new faces," he noted, revealing a strategic mindset that could reshape the electoral landscape.

**Michael Thng**: A Harvard graduate, Thng works in regional communications at the London Stock Exchange Group. He began his political journey as a grassroots volunteer in the Serangoon division and has taken on various roles, including legislative assistant to former MP Leon Perera. At just 35, he’s ready to speak out for his generation, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in government.

**Paris V Parameswari**: At 51, Paris brings a wealth of experience as a former US Navy security administrator and has been a dedicated WP volunteer since 2021. Resigning from her job to enter the political arena, she’s passionate about advocating for better opportunities for ex-offenders and enhancing student well-being. Her commitment to social causes shines through, revealing a dynamic candidate eager to make a difference.

With the total number of candidates set to exceed the 21 fielded in the last election, and plans to contest in 32 of the 97 available parliamentary seats, the Workers’ Party is preparing for a robust challenge during GE2025.
