SINGAPORE: Maximilian Maeder, Singapore’s sensational kitefoiler, hasn't missed a beat as he storms into 2025 with yet another victory. The 18-year-old talent, who made headlines last year by securing an Olympic bronze medal, claimed first place in the men's kitefoiling event at the prestigious Trofeo Princesa Sofia Regatta held in Palma, Mallorca.

Dominating the Competition

Dominating the competition, Maeder outpaced Italy’s Ricardo Pianosi and Austria’s Valentin Bontus to retain his title. With a remarkable strategic approach, he entered the medal series leading the pack with just 22 net points, significantly ahead of Olympic gold medallist Bontus (55 points) and Pianosi (70 points).

Needing only to win one race in the final series to clinch the championship, Maeder wasted no time, securing his victory on his first attempt.
