Dramatic Fire Strikes Pioneer Warehouse
SINGAPORE – Early risers in Pioneer were met with a shocking sight as a fierce blaze broke out at a warehouse on April 16. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded quickly, racing to the scene at 23 Gul Drive around 6:15 AM.
Armed with water jets and an innovative unmanned firefighting machine, firefighters battled the flames and managed to control the fire in under an hour. However, they continued to conduct damping down operations to ensure that the area would not reignite.
According to the SCDF, the inferno primarily involved waste materials accumulated within the imposing structure, which measured approximately 20 meters by 40 meters.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and officials are now investigating the cause of this alarming incident.
A History of Heat: This Warehouse Has Seen Flames Before!
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time this particular warehouse has faced a fiery mishap. Back in June 2022, a similar fire engulfed the premises, requiring the efforts of around 50 SCDF firefighters, who utilized water and foam jets to extinguish the flames. Thankfully, that incident also resulted in no injuries.
The SCDF has been contacted for further updates on this ongoing investigation and the state of the warehouse.
