In a gripping turn of events, veteran actor Mark Lee has spoken out about the explosive fallout between celebrity hairstylist Addy Lee and host Quan Yi Fong. The drama unfolded when Addy mentioned Mark several times during his recent livestreams and social media posts.
At 56, Mark recounted their recent encounter in Bangkok, where he made a cameo appearance in the movie '3 Good Guys'. He shared with Shin Min Daily News: "Although I consider him a good friend, I only have limited insight into the situation, so I can’t comment extensively. I advised him not to be too ruthless." He emphasized that only those directly involved truly understand the complexity of their feud.
A Friendship Torn Apart
The drama erupted on May 13 during Addy's livestream where he revealed the bitter end of his nearly 30-year friendship with Yi Fong. Speculations proved true as he outlined how their rift had begun during their sales livestreams amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Addy accused Yi Fong of moving into his home with her daughter, actress Eleanor Lee, without paying rent after selling her own house, suggesting he bore the burden of their living expenses. Tensions grew as Addy felt humiliated by Yi Fong's demeanor on air and claimed they criticized him for leveraging their fame.
A Shift in Alliances
The fallout deepened when Yi Fong moved out and rekindled a friendship with Addy's rival, celebrity hairstylist David Gan. Addy alleged that Eleanor publicly insulted him in a social media comment aimed at thanking David, adding fuel to the fire.
Responding on May 16, Yi Fong dismissed Addy’s statements, claiming his criticisms held 'no effect' on her. She stated she wouldn't engage further, citing the lack of resolution.
