Major Sim Card Fraud Bust in Singapore

In a significant operation against SIM card registration fraud, Singaporean police executed simultaneous raids on three mobile phone shops on March 5, capturing the attention of the nation.

The raids targeted two shops in Serangoon—ARS Digital World and Univercell Mobiles Technology—along with Icares Mobile Services located in Woodlands.

Authorities reported the arrest of two men, aged 30 and 58, who are believed to be key players in the fraudulent activities associated with the unauthorized registration of prepaid SIM cards.

In addition to these arrests, seven other men and one woman, ranging in age from 27 to 50, are currently assisting police with their investigations.

During the operation, police seized a variety of mobile phones, registration documents, and a large stash of SIM cards, highlighting the extensive nature of the scam.

Investigators revealed that the suspects allegedly used personal information from legitimate customers to fraudulently pre-register additional prepaid SIM cards.
