The Heartfelt Plea on Social Media

In a heartfelt post shared on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group, Oriero detailed how she accidentally left her pink iPhone 16 Plus on a tissue holder in the women’s bathroom late on New Year’s Day. Immediately realizing her mistake a few minutes later, she rushed back to retrieve it, but unfortunately, it was already gone.

The Chaotic Atmosphere at the Mall

The mall was closing as many shoppers were hurrying about, adding to the chaotic atmosphere. Despite asking a cleaner if anyone had turned in her phone, Oriero was met with disappointment. Desperate to locate her device, she turned to her Apple Watch, which revealed that her iPhone had already made its way across the border to Johor Bahru.

An Emotional Appeal for Kindness

In her emotional plea, Oriero addressed the phone's current holder, emphasizing the importance of kindness in the New Year. “You must be working in Paya Lebar Quarter or were a last-minute shopper as you were still in the mall while it was almost closing time,” she wrote. “I hope you will choose to be kind. I bought it with my hard-earned money, and I know you understand how it feels.”

Unanswered Calls and Suggestions from Commenters

Despite her efforts to contact her phone, including a series of calls that went unanswered, she was unable to retrieve it. Commenters on her post advised her to file a police report and alert the mall management. Some even suggested traveling to JB to seek help from local authorities in recovering her device. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, Oriero cannot make the trip.
