Liverpool looks poised to enhance their attack, thanks to the rising star Rio Ngumoha and a potential signing from Newcastle United, Alexander Isak. A former Champions League finalist believes a deal for Isak would significantly bolster the squad.

At just 16 years old, Ngumoha has already made history as the youngest player to start a match for Liverpool, showcasing his talent in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley. His pre-season performances have been nothing short of spectacular, with two goals and two assists across four matches, including a stunning display in the 4-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao.

Ngumoha’s ability to score and assist was evident as he found the net in a convincing 3-1 win against Yokohama F. Marinos and set up a goal in a tight 4-2 loss to AC Milan. Analysts and fans alike expect this young talent to play a significant role under coach Arne Slot this season.

Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant shares this optimistic outlook, stating, "If you can perform well in pre-season against seasoned professionals, then age becomes irrelevant. He’s not going to start every match, but he’ll certainly add depth when needed."

Ngumoha has already made the bench for Liverpool’s first two games against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, and fans are eager to see him in action again when Liverpool faces Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Isak's situation remains complex. Although he's a prime target for Liverpool, he’s currently not participating with the squad while he seeks a transfer. Nevertheless, the addition of Isak alongside Hugo Ekitike, who has started brilliantly at the club, could create an explosive competition for the number nine position.

Should Ekitike face any injuries, Liverpool will count on Cody Gakpo as a fallback, although he’s struggled to find his form in the striker role since his arrival.

As Liverpool looks to solidify their attacking strategy, uncertainty surrounds the future of Harvey Elliott, who has been linked away from the club as well. Given the potential exits of other players, including key figures like Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, relying on a 16-year-old and an injury-prone player to provide depth could be a risky gamble.

With the transfer window still open, fans are left to wonder if another winger, perhaps someone like Rodrygo, could be added to provide extra support in what promises to be an exciting season ahead!
