Generosity in the Spotlight

In a heartwarming display of compassion, South Korean stars Park Jin-young and Seungmin have each donated a whopping 100 million won (approximately $92,000) to children's charities in celebration of their birthdays on September 22.

Park Jin-young’s Meaningful Gift

Known fondly as Jinyoung, the Got7 member chose to contribute to Save The Children, emphasizing the importance of giving back as he turns 31. His donation aims to provide warm meals to underprivileged children during the Chuseok holiday, a beloved mid-autumn festival in South Korea.

Expressing his gratitude, Jinyoung stated, "I believe I can continue to move forward with the love and support of many fans. I'm grateful that I can do even a little to protect the smiles of children, and I will continue to act and sing with sincerity and do my best." His dedication to philanthropy isn’t new; earlier this year, he joined Save The Children Korea's Honors Club after donating to relief efforts following devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Seungmin’s Heartfelt Support

Seungmin, the talented member of Stray Kids, also made a generous donation to ChildFund Korea on his 25th birthday. His contribution supports the Family Caregiver Support program, which aids minors who bear the responsibilities of caretaking for their families.

In a touching statement, he expressed, "I hope that children who, at such a young age, must shoulder the burdens of adulthood for the sake of their families, can set those weights aside, even for just a moment.” Seungmin’s heartfelt wish is to alleviate their struggles and inspire dreams of a brighter future.

A Culture of Giving Among K-Pop Stars

This spirit of giving isn’t limited to just these two. Stray Kids members are known for their generous gestures, with Felix previously donating 200 million won for his birthday and Han contributing 100 million won shortly before him. Earlier this year, the group pooled together 800 million won to assist in disaster relief following destructive wildfires in South Korea.

As fans celebrate these incredibly thoughtful acts of kindness, it's clear that the K-Pop community continues to shine not only on stage but also in the hearts of those in need.
