NASA's Astrobiology Program is seeking a panel of 12 to 14 experts, along with one early-career executive secretary, to help develop strategies that could shape future discoveries in astrobiology. This prestigious task force will engage with leadership from NASA’s Science Mission Directorate to address critical scientific questions.

- **Application Deadline:** April 11, 2025, by 11:59 PM EDT

- **Meeting Format:** Virtual panel reviews in April-May 2025 followed by a hybrid community workshop in Washington, D.C., at the end of May 2025.

- **Additional Meetings:** Some virtual meetings may occur as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

The selected Group Lead for TF1 will have the vital role of steering discussions, mediating conflicts, and coordinating inputs to draft the Request for Information (RFI) Findings Report. The executive secretary will assist the Group Lead, manage scheduling, and ensure accurate documentation of discussions, and may also join in the deliberations.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should prepare: 1. A 2-page biographical sketch highlighting professional experiences, positions, and a bibliography of publications. 2. A 2-page cover letter expressing interest in serving on the task force, emphasizing qualifications and relevant scientific, technical, or managerial experiences. Those aspiring to be Group Lead should specifically mention their interest and provide reasons for their suitability. 3. Responses to Program Specific Questions outlined in Appendix A of the guidelines.

Who Can Apply?

Both professionals and early-career individuals within five years of their terminal degrees are encouraged to apply. Civil servants are also eligible, though specific travel funding would not be available for them through the selected support contract.
