Overview

The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a major player in global health, dedicated to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries. Founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, CHAI has expanded its mission to address multiple health challenges, including infectious diseases, cancer, diabetes, and malnutrition. By partnering with governments and private sectors, CHAI works tirelessly to strengthen health systems, increase access to life-saving medications and vaccines, and improve overall health outcomes.

Despite vaccines saving millions of lives annually, over 1.5 million children still die each year from vaccine-preventable diseases, particularly in lower-income nations. In 2010, CHAI launched its vaccine program with the aim of reducing these tragic numbers and enhancing immunization efforts. Today, CHAI is a pivotal partner in immunization across 21 focus countries including Zimbabwe, collaborating with global organizations like Gavi, WHO, and UNICEF.
