The Malaria and NTD Team

CHAI's impressive global program on malaria and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) aims to enhance technical and operational capabilities worldwide. CHAI is now seeking an enthusiastic Epidemiologist for its Malaria Analytics & Surveillance Team in East and Southern Africa, particularly in Zimbabwe. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for public health and epidemiology. The successful candidate will analyze malaria and NTD data to influence public health decisions, collaborate with various stakeholders, and assist in improving data utilization across health programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide regional analytics support (70%): Collaborate with teams and partner organizations to assess analytical needs, develop data analysis plans, and conduct in-depth analyses. Report findings and recommendations that guide resource allocation and program development. - Ensure robust regional data review and surveillance support (30%): Monitor epidemiological data, improve data review forums, and strengthen surveillance systems. Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making through training staff in data analysis and application.

Qualifications Needed

- A Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field. - At least 2 years of hands-on experience analyzing epidemiological data. - Familiarity with malaria and NTDs, as well as statistical and spatial analysis methods. - Proficiency in statistical programs such as R, Stata, or Python, and experience with mapping software.
