Jo In Sung and Go Hyun Jung End Their 12-Year Business Partnership – What’s Next for the Stars?

2024-09-24

After an impressive 12 years of collaboration, renowned actor Jo In Sung is parting ways with his agency, IOK Company, founded by actress Go Hyun Jung and her brother. This marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in both their careers.

A close source revealed that Jo’s exclusive contract with IOK will expire in the fourth quarter of this year, and both parties have amicably decided not to renew it. “They initially agreed to work together for just a decade and have now reached that milestone,” the source stated. "Now, they’re set to support each other while pursuing new individual paths."

While Go Hyun Jung's future plans remain undisclosed, speculation suggests that she may continue her work at IOK Company, given her brother's involvement with a key position in Ssangbangwool.

Interestingly, despite the 10-year age gap between Jo and Go, rumors surrounding their personal relationship have lingered since their initial meeting on the set of Go's comeback drama, 'Spring Day,' back in 2005. Addressing these swirling rumors earlier this year, Go Hyun Jung appeared on the YouTube show 'Fairy Jae Hyung,' where she openly clarified her relationship with Jo.

In a memorable moment on her talk show 'Go Show' in 2012, Jo jokingly remarked, “Honestly, noona isn’t my type,” which seemed to quench the speculation at the time. However, when they were spotted together at the airport three years later, the gossip reignited. In a bid to put the rumors to rest, Go explained that the airport photo, which fueled speculation, featured other stars like Song Joong Ki and Lee Min Ho but only captured her and Jo in the frame. “He’s a really manly and good friend, but he’s not my type,” she humorously asserted.

A close acquaintance of Go noted that while she may project a calm demeanor, she is quite sensitive and found the tabloid attention challenging. “About four or five years ago, she began to limit her private interactions with Jo. They stopped sending each other coffee trucks, attending VIP events, and even unfollowed each other on social media,” revealed the insider. Their last known shared coffee truck delivery was during Go Hyun Jung's drama 'Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho 2' in 2019.

On a personal front, Jo In Sung recently opened up about his single status during his appearance on the YouTube show 'Cheerful Brother Shin Dong Yeob.' At 43, Jo candidly expressed his thoughts on marriage. “I’m at an age where I should be thinking about marriage, but I can’t tell if it’s something I’m actively avoiding or just struggling with,” he said, adding, “My mother has even urged me to ‘bring home a child from somewhere.’ Whenever I strip fame from the situation, I ponder whether younger women would actually be interested in me or if I'm still appealing,” providing insight into his contemplative nature about both life and love in the public eye.

As both actors transition into this new chapter of their careers, fans are left curious about what lies ahead for them both professionally and personally. Will Jo find love in his next chapter? What new projects are on the horizon for Go Hyun Jung? Only time will tell!
