In a candid revelation, legendary action star Jackie Chan has voiced his concerns over the use of CGI in modern filmmaking, suggesting it is dulling audiences' sense of real danger in action sequences.

At 71, Chan, with over six decades in the industry, argues that while technology allows today's actors to perform jaw-dropping stunts, it also creates a false sense of safety. "In the old days, we had to rely on our physical skills and take risks on set. Today, there’s a disconnect between reality and the fantasy crafted by computers," he lamented in an interview with Haute Living.

Despite the allure of CGI, Chan believes it diminishes the thrill, stating, "Actors can now execute impossible stunts, but this blurs the lines of danger, leaving audiences numb to the stakes involved." However, he stresses he's not advocating for reckless risk-taking, emphasizing the inherent dangers of stunt work.

True to his roots, Chan is adamant about performing his own stunts. "That’s who I am, and it won’t change until I retire. After 64 years, it’s all muscle memory for me," he proclaimed.

Yet, Chan isn't just about action. He has a burning desire to explore different genres to showcase his versatility, expressing, "I want to take on roles beyond action. I’m eager to step out of my comfort zone and break boundaries in my craft."

Reflecting on his stellar career, Chan reiterated the importance of commercial appeal in his projects, saying, "I've focused on making commercial films, always brainstorming to design more engaging action sequences that captivate audiences."

Chan’s philosophy in both life and cinema is to never rest on his laurels. "You can’t please everyone, so being true to yourself is what matters. Filmmaking always leaves you with a sense of regret that you could have done more. But as long as I push my limits, I can move forward without looking back," he concluded.
