Rasmus Hojlund's future at Manchester United is hanging by a thread as speculation mounts that he could be on the move.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a number of Serie A clubs are closely monitoring the Danish striker, raising the stakes for the Red Devils.

Currently, Manchester United is weighing its options: Should they keep Hojlund or pursue a new striker? Napoli has emerged as a potential suitor, with whispers of a swap deal that could see United land Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray.

Hojlund made headlines after an impressive stint with Atalanta, where he scored 10 goals before making his high-profile £72 million move to Old Trafford from Sturm Graz in 2022. Initially showing promise, his form recently took a nosedive.

In his first season with Manchester United, Hojlund netted 16 goals across all competitions but has struggled since the appointment of Ruben Amorim, managing only two league goals and four overall since the new manager took charge.

Criticism has come from multiple angles, with SunSport's Dean Scoggins pointing out Hojlund’s questionable positioning on the pitch. In a recent Tactics Exposed video, he stated that Hojlund's positioning was perplexing, even deeper than defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte's at half-time against Manchester City.

Scoggins remarked, "He doesn't pressure defenders effectively and seems to be lacking the confidence to take them on one-on-one. In contrast, Joshua Zirkzee brought more dynamism, stretching City's defense better."
