Hong Kong's beloved opera star and actor, Law Kar Ying, is once again shining brightly in the spotlight – despite facing a daunting health battle. At 78, he reveals that he is confronting cancer for the fourth time, but his spirit remains unbroken.

Currently captivating audiences across China alongside actress Athena Chu in a lively Cantonese stage play, Law opened up in a recent interview, sharing his surprising outlook on life and death.

Doctors have given him an estimate of around eight more years to live, but Law's response is strikingly fearless. "Ninety years old is already a long life. What’s the point of living longer? I’m not afraid at all," he stated, choosing to reject chemotherapy and radiotherapy in favor of comfort as he prepares to say goodbye to loved ones.

Law’s journey with cancer began in 2004 when he was diagnosed with stage three liver cancer, requiring a major surgery to save his life. With the unwavering support of his wife, actress Liza Wang, whom he married in 2009, Law fought back against the disease and emerged victorious.

However, his battles did not end there – routine check-ups revealed further challenges, including a tumor in 2014 and cancerous cells discovered in 2019. Each time, Law faced adversity with remarkable resilience, ultimately undergoing a prostatectomy and re-entering remission.
