Time is running out for Singaporeans! If you’ve received CDC vouchers disbursed back in January and June, you now have just around one week to utilize them before they expire on December 31, 2024.
Each household was allocated a whopping total of $800 in vouchers this year — $500 in January and $300 in June. These vouchers can be used at a plethora of venues, including participating hawker centers, heartland shops, and supermarkets. Look out for merchants displaying the distinctive teal or yellow CDC voucher decals on their storefronts to ensure you’re using them at eligible businesses.
But don't fret if you haven't spent all of your vouchers! Unused CDC vouchers can be donated to Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) until January 31, 2025. This allows you to contribute to charitable causes while making sure your vouchers don’t go to waste. A comprehensive list of participating IPCs is available at the official CDC vouchers website.
The CDC voucher scheme made its debut in June 2020, introduced as a lifeline for lower-income households struggling amid the Covid-19 pandemic. It also aimed to boost local merchants and hawkers who faced significant challenges during that time. The initiative was later extended to include all households in December 2021, thanking Singaporeans for their resilience throughout the crisis and aiding the recovery of heartland businesses.
As we near the end of the year, exciting news has surfaced! Reports indicate that between December 2021 and the end of 2024, the CDC voucher scheme is projected to generate a staggering $900 million in spending at participating merchants. Notably, by mid-year, the program had already spurred nearly $650 million in spending at local stalls and shops.
Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to support your local businesses and enjoy your spending power! With just a week left, make sure you take full advantage of your CDC vouchers before they expire!
