In a remarkable act of heroism, crew members aboard the Genting Dream cruise ship rescued a stranded man from the treacherous waters of the Straits of Malacca on the morning of September 3.

During a routine journey from Singapore to Phuket, the crew noticed a small boat in distress, signaling for help. The lone occupant, an Indonesian man, found himself adrift after his vessel suffered critical engine failure.

Responding swiftly, the Genting Dream crew initiated a 30-minute rescue operation, successfully bringing the man onboard. There, he received essential medical care along with food and refreshments to recover from his ordeal.

"We are working closely with local authorities to ensure his safe transfer to shore," a representative from Dream Cruises stated, adding that the man is now in stable condition.

Remarkably, the ship’s scheduled itinerary remained unaffected by the rescue operation.
