Following the footsteps of Netflix and other major media companies like Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery is eyeing a big financial boost from this tightening of access. Perrette noted that after months of testing, the company has identified ways to distinguish genuine users from those who may not be—which indicates that tougher restrictions are on the horizon.

Perrette explained that the current messaging regarding account usage has been soft and easy to dismiss, but that’s about to change. "The message will soon shift from a gentle reminder to a more compulsory directive, forcing users to take action,” he warned.
