Unleashing Prehistoric Giants
SINGAPORE – Prepare to step back in time as the Science Centre Singapore unveils its largest dinosaur exhibition to date on October 11! This colossal event promises to be a must-see for anyone fascinated by our planet's intriguing past.
Two Epic Themes, One Unforgettable Experience
Dubbed a groundbreaking showcase, the exhibition includes two captivating sections: 'Dinosaurs of Patagonia' and 'Six Extinctions.' Together, they will guide attendees through an astonishing 400 million-year journey across 3,000 square meters of exhibition space!
A Fossil Wonderland Awaits!
Hosted in the annexe halls of the Science Centre, this exhibition features an impressive collection of 33 fossils and 60 life-sized models laid out across three interactive zones. Expect to marvel at a staggering 40-meter-long cast of the Patagotitan mayorum, one of the titanosaur giants that weighed an astonishing 70 tons!
Dive into Ancient Patagonia
The first section, 'Dinosaurs of Patagonia,' was curated by the renowned Museo Paleontologico Egidio Feruglio in Argentina. Attendees will feel as though they've been transported to one of the world’s richest fossil grounds, where ancient giants once roamed.
Uncovering Extinction — The Sixth Event
The second section, 'Six Extinctions,' curated by Gondwana Studios in Australia, will feature over 30 incredible fossils, including Scotty, the largest Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered! This part of the exhibition will explore the previously recorded extinction events and lead visitors to reflect on the ongoing sixth extinction crisis caused by human activity.
Singapore's Own Biodiversity Challenge
In a unique twist, the exhibit will also highlight the conservation struggles faced right here in Singapore. View species like the extinct cream-colored giant squirrel and the rufous-collared kingfisher, shedding light on the urgent need to protect our local biodiversity.
Fostering Awareness for Future Generations
Moreover, the exhibition will showcase modern scientific tools and methodologies used to analyze extinction records, aiming to inspire action towards preventing further species loss. Don't miss this enlightening experience that promises to entertain and educate!
