Among the disgruntled customers is Wany Stomper, who took to TikTok on August 4 to share his plight. He’s been waiting six months for a refund of over $3,197. Wany claims that there are multiple police reports filed against the store for unfulfilled orders.

"They keep promising refunds, but it seems like it’s never going to happen," he shared. It’s not just Wany—many customers have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction.

Escalating Complaints and Lack of Action

In an alarming revelation, Melvin Yong, president of the Consumers Association of Singapore, confirmed that 36 complaints against The Simple Furniture have been logged since January. Many upset customers reported that they paid upfront but received nothing in return.

The Company’s Perspective

When approached for comment, a spokesperson for The Simple Furniture claimed the company is working hard to resolve the situation amidst accusations of harassment. They described their struggle as a 'very tough' period, noting it is a small business trying to manage multiple challenges.

Controversial Repayment Plans

Despite claiming to have a repayment plan ready for Wany, the customer rejected the proposal, viewing it as yet another stalling tactic. The plan included eight payments stretched from October 2025 to May 2026. Wany remains skeptical and adds that numerous customers he’s spoken to also reported being owed money, estimating the total debt at around $16,000.

The Simple Furniture, which previously operated a showroom in Woodlands, announced on August 8 that they are now functioning exclusively online. However, they are already tagged on Google as "permanently closed." The future of the business—and its customers—remains uncertain.
