SINGAPORE – In a move to enhance convenience for commuters, Singapore is set to unveil five new bus services over the next two weeks. This initiative aims to better serve residents in the Kent Ridge, Hougang, Boon Lay, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, and Mayflower areas.
New Short Trip Services
Starting March 24, passengers traveling from Kent Ridge MRT station can utilize the newly introduced short trip bus service 92B to reach Singapore Science Park 1. This service, operated by SBS Transit, is designed to specifically cater to high-demand areas, offering a more streamlined option for those commuting during the morning peak hours from 7:50 AM to 9:11 AM on weekdays.
Service 92B will commence at Kent Ridge MRT station’s Exit B, making stops at 11 locations along Science Park Drive before concluding its route at the bus stop in South Buona Vista Road.
Additionally, on the same day, short trip bus service 112B will launch, providing another option for commuters from Hougang Central Bus Interchange to Hougang Avenue 7. This service is scheduled to operate during the evening peak from 5:38 PM to 7:13 PM on weekdays, stopping at five key locations before terminating.
New Supplementary Services
A new supplementary bus service, 258M, will begin service on March 23 and is set to connect passengers directly to essential amenities, such as the Boon Lay Shopping Centre. This service will operate only on weekends and public holidays from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM, featuring an impressive frequency of 11 to 13 minutes, ensuring that shoppers and residents have quick access to the shopping center and community facilities.
On March 17, residents traveling between Mayflower MRT station and Bishan MRT station will benefit from the introduction of short trip bus service 71A. This service, running during morning peak hours, will stop at various key bus stops, making it easier for students and commuters heading to educational institutions like Raffles Institution.
In further developments, starting March 15, a supplementary service known as 138M will enhance connectivity for those visiting the Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic. Operating every 30 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, this route will provide direct access to critical health services without the need for passengers to navigate busy roads.
