Apple Releases iOS 18.5 RC: What’s New?

On May 6, Apple unveiled the release candidate for iOS 18.5, just a month after rolling out iOS 18.4. While the previous update brought a wave of new emojis to iPhones, this latest version comes with notable tweaks, including a vibrant new Pride wallpaper! With the RC (Release Candidate) now available, expect the public launch as soon as next week.

As part of their annual tradition, Apple launched a fresh Pride wallpaper named "Pride Harmony". This eye-catching design features dynamic stripes that shift and change as you move your device, setting a celebratory tone ahead of Pride Month.

Mail App Enhancements!

iOS 18.5 also revamps the Mail app, making it more user-friendly. You can now easily toggle contact photos on or off, allowing for a cleaner inbox view. By default, Mail shows Contact Posters, but you can revert back to a classic layout.

Additionally, a new tab feature lets you effortlessly access the 'All Mail' category. While this category existed previously, the new indicator makes it much easier to find.

Back Tap Feature Gets Upgraded!

A cool addition is the option to display a banner when using the Back Tap function. This handy feature turns your iPhone's logo into a command center for quick actions. Now, whenever you double or triple tap the logo, a banner notification will pop up, confirming the action!

What Else is Included?

This RC also brings a variety of enhancements and bug fixes, such as: - The new Pride Harmony wallpaper. - Notifications for parents when their child uses the Screen Time passcode. - Enhanced purchasing options via the Apple TV app on third-party devices. - A fix for the Apple Vision Pro app's black screen issue. - Support for satellite features on all models of the iPhone 13.
